SPENCER ADDS INTERNET ACCESSED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Spencer Products Co., Tampa, FL, has released an upgrade of its AIM Inventory Management System, which permits Internet access while utilizing its special packaging and bar code labeling system for parts used in the hurricane shutter and window industries.

This system permits extremely low inventory levels/investment, with minimal or no paperwork.

Spencer Products is an ISO9002 company with multiple locations in the United States specializing in fasteners for the Original Equipment Manufacture markets.

WAUSAU'S HURRICANE SERIES WINDOW MEETS SOUTH FLORIDA / DADE COUNTRY CODE

Wausau Window and Wall Systems®, Wausau, WI, reports its new 3250HP Hurricane Series thermal barrier aluminum window was successfully tested to meet the South Florida/Dade County building code; Compliance Test Protocols PA 201-94, PA 202-94 and PA 203-94.

The tests were conducted by a certified independent test laboratory to simulate hurricane wind speeds exceeding 250 mph, along with large and small missile wind-borne debris impact. Cyclic design pressures of positive 80 psf and negative 90 psf were achieved for large missile impact, with positive 100 psf and negative 120 psf achieved for small missile impact, allowing application in most low- and mid-rise buildings in hurricane-prone areas of the United States, the company says. A 15 psf static water test pressure ensures weather-tightness under very adverse conditions. The 3250 HP in-swing casement also has been tested to meet the performance requirements of AAMA 101/I.S. 2-97 for AW120 Grade.

The 3250HP in-swing casement windows utilize a single locking handle located near the sill to actuate three multi-point heavy-duty locks used at jambs, head and sill. Side-hinged, in-swing casement operation provides for both ventilation and an easy means of window cleaning from inside the building. The window is factory glazed using structural silicone for no-sag performance and ease of operation.

Heavy-duty, zinc-plated, steel slide-in anchors provide superior strength and offer efficiency in installation with a minimum number of anchor locations. From the exterior of the building, uniform sightlines make fixed lights virtually indistinguishable from casement vents in the closed position.

PELLA® LAUNCHES COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS WEB SITE

Pella Corp., Pella, IA, has launched a new, commercial products Web site. The new site, www.pellacommercial.com, features five specific elements: Overview and Selection, Specifications and Details, Design Applications, Architect Support, and Contractor Support.

“This additional Web site is especially for architects, general contractors, and commercial building owners,” said Terry Zeimetz, AIA, CSI, commercial market manager for Pella. The site also enables commercial customers to contact Pella’s nationwide network of commercial representatives for dedicated support.

“Our research has told us to expect most of the Web traffic to go straight to Specifications and Details, but the other pages hold a wealth of information we’ve been asked to make available,” noted Zeimetz. For easy use, the site closely parallels Pella Corp.’s Commercial Design Guide.
